Peter Fiala MS BA, the founder of Gametrip, was a feature film artist for twenty years who contributed to numerous Emmy and Oscar nominated feature films. He has a passion for creating computer generated visual effects (VFX) and has worked as a lead modeling/texturing and lighting artist.
In Hollywood, Peter was responsible for designing and implementing production pipelines, and the hiring, training and directing of large crews of 3D artists, making sure that their work was in line with the vision of feature film directors, such as Clint Eastwood.
In addition to his work in the film industry, Peter has over a decade of experience as an instructor and curriculum developer at several post secondary institutions in North America and Europe.
Peter has a passion for startups and he has been involved in Startup Chile, Startup Edmonton, Qualcomm Robotics Accelerator, and most recently, Catapult Entrepreneurs in Red Deer, Alberta.
Peter is also very passionate about all things art: sculpture, castles, historical sites, and traveling. His passion for art is at the foundation of all the immersive products produced at Gametrip.
Program Developer and Instructor
At Red Deer College as the Program Developer, his knowledge, passion and drive was instrumental in the 2018 launch of their Bachelor of Applied Arts in Animation and Visual Effects. Peter has worked tirelessly since 2015 to create an ecosystem in Central Alberta of highly trained, job-ready graduates in animation and VFX.
As a lifelong learner, Peter has achieved ‘top row recognition’ for his student work in online courses in animation and visual effects. Peter has a Master’s degree in Computer Graphics Technology from Purdue University. He continues enrolling in courses, and working through personal projects in order to stay on the bleeding edge with his art, business, VFX, and gaming.
“We make learning fun and engaging, where learning happens almost by accident.”
