Inspiration is Sparked on Easter Island

Peter has a passion for making the wonders and stories of the world accessible to anyone, anywhere. The beauty and mystery of Easter Island (Rapa Nui) in Chile intrigued Peter, and he self-financed a trip to the island to explore and develop Gametrip’s very first prototype game.

Easter Island was a lightbulb moment that brought into focus Peter’s desire to combine tourism and mobile device gaming by creating realistic, first-person perspective games that revolutionized trip planning. He loved the idea of creating a virtual experience that would allow players to get lost in the unforgettable experience and adventure of exploring Easter Island.

On his trip, Peter made friendships with local businesses to feature in the game and collected a significant portion of the data for trip times to and from various tourist sites on the island.

In order to build a prototype MVP (minimum viable product), Peter also invested time and resources into collecting data for and creating in-game 3D models and textures. Gametrip release the MVP (minimum viable product) as a web-playable game that runs inside of a web browser. The game enables players to have fun and learn in ways that inspire curiosity.
