Take a Ride on The Edmonton Trolley Car

Experience 1915 history in Virtual Reality. In the Edmonton Trolley Car game, players can talk to authentic era characters on a busy street corner and then on a trolley car as it crosses the river and heads downtown, earning points by talking to people and observing landmarks.

You will feel immersed in 1915 as characters tell you about aspects of the daily life, and as Model T’s drive by amidst accurately portrayed historical buildings that still stand today. Your goal is to earn 100% of the possible “conversation” and “look-at” points by talking to the locals and seeing the historically important sights.

The game begins on a bustling street corner where you become acquainted with the game’s characters and gameplay, then board the trolley car and ride what was North America’s northernmost trolley car system, down the famous Whyte Avenue.

You will experience the hair-raising commute of a passenger in 1915, as your trolley rumbles across the iconic 137 feet (46M) high, High Level Bridge. Hang on to something as you share the bridge with a locomotive that rumbles past your trolley whose tracks are on the edge of the bridge. Look out your window down over the edge if you dare!

The historically-themed characters include people such as the stalwart conductor, gruff coal miner, aloof rich woman, optimistic upper class gentleman, and more. You will earn points as you interact with the characters as they direct you to look at landmarks to learn about the events of the day in 1915 Edmonton.

This historically-accurate first-person POV game is fun for people who are familiar with Edmonton and who will recognize many of the buildings still there a century later. The game is equally entertaining for anyone interested to learn about this bustling and progressive frontier city.
